His name was Money..

I met this guy
His name was
Mr. Greed
Born in hell
Lives all over the world
Bringer of false hope & happiness
Enjoys watching others struggle
Makes the rich, richer
And the poor, poorer
Work hard for me he says
And I will give you want you want
But, of course
It comes with a price
Will you sell your soul to me?
Worship me
Spend me on things that aren't needed
Flaunt me in the face of those who are
Starving, in pain, suffering, and debt
Build me nations; help me take over the world?
Kill for me
Steal for me
Lie for me
Help me to make people think they need me
To live and to be happy?
Help me break up families
Help me to break hearts
Help me to cause grief
Help me to cause wars
Help me to make them believe?
I am life insurance
You need me, you know
I am the only way you can survive on this earth
I was almost sold on his plan until he said on "this earth"
I then had a flashback of a Bible verse which was also a warning.

"For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." Timothy 6:10

After much thought,
I came to the realization that money can't get me into Heaven.
He couldn't pay God to listen to me, since he does it for free
He couldn't pay for my sins to be washed away
He couldn't pay for happiness
He couldn't pay for someone to love me
He couldn't bring loved ones back from the dead.
He couldn't cure my depression.
And, he wasn't worth ruining other people's lives over.
He quickly left once he realized
That there was no soil for his seed to grow
And no gullible brain for him to wash
He almost had me fooled, but unfortunately for him.
I'm an INTJ.
"INTJs are strong individualists who seek new angles or novel ways of looking at things. They enjoy coming to new understandings. They tend to be insightful and mentally quick; however, this mental quickness may not always be outwardly apparent to others since they keep a great deal to themselves. They are very determined people who trust their vision of the possibilities, regardless of what others think. They may even be considered the most independent of all of the sixteen personality types. INTJs are at their best in quietly and firmly developing their ideas, theories, and principles."

Your politics comment is perfectly fine! Honestly, I didn't think of it that way, until you mentioned it. This poem was based on the devil tricking us with money, but this definitely works for politics too! Thank you so much!
